Depression is mental health disorder. It is characterized by persistent depressed mood,  loss of interest in activities which resulting disturbance in daily life. It occurs due to a combination of biological, psychological, and social distress. These factors lead to change in brain function, altered activity, and altered daily life completely.

So during the period of depression or anxiety, it is necessary to monitor the intake of food items.  Intake of proper nutritious food containing an adequate amount of carbohydrates, protein, fats, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and water helps to recover from illness.

So we must prepare a schedule for what to eat or not

1. Fruit Juice

Fiber plays an important role in fruit juice.  When we intake whole fruit juice, it is the best option, it fills you up and slows down how your blood takes in energy. On the other when we drink fruit juice without fiber, it will work simply as sweet water and quickly hype you up and bring you down quickly.  It can increase your anxiety and depression. 

2. Regular Soda

We must avoid regular soda. It is simply a sweetened soda. It is a direct link to depression and anxiety. If you want to pop up, drink a glass of water. That will hydrate you and give you energy and help prevent anxiety and depression.

3. Diet Soda

Diet soda is also not good for health. It makes you depressed. It is more harmful than regular soda.  It does not contain sugar but it is full of caffeine and shot up blood pressure and anxiety.  So we must avoid the intake of diet soda.

4. White bread toast

White bread is made of ‘Maida’, which is very harmful to our health. We must avoid the intake of food items made from maida. So we should not consume white bread toast.  The highly processed white flour cause energy spikes and crashes that can be bad for anxiety and depression. So avoid its intake.  You must intake only whole bread toast.

5. Ketchup

It is made of tomatoes and a lot of sugar. 15 ml tomatoes ketchup contains approximately 4 grams sugar. And the light stuff may have artificial sweeteners that could be linked to anxiety and depression. So avoid the use of ketchup and prepare tomatoes sauce in your house, which would be safe, best, and good for your health.

6. Coffee

Coffee contains a high amount of caffeine. Which may cause, depression and hypertension. If you take it after dinner it will definitely disturb your sleep. It will never help in anxiety and depression but after drinking it you will feel bad.  So we must avoid the intake of coffee.

7. Avoid energy drinks

Energy drinks contain caffeine and a lot of sugar or artificial sweeteners. They cause weird heart rhythms, anxiety, and sleep issues. So we must avoid the intake of energy drinks and drink plenty of water when feeling thirst and eat any fruit thereafter.

8. Avoid alcohol

No doubt alcohol is good for health.  But we must drink a very low amount of alcohol only one time a day. That will boost your health.  But if you intake more and more alcohol, it will not only ruin your health as well as your liver and raise anxiety and depression, sleeplessness. So we must avoid the intake of alcohol in anxiety and depression.

9. Avoid frosting items

Frosting items contain a high amount of sugar, added sugar, and fat, such as fried foods, pizza dough, cakes, cookies, and crackers. These items are harm full for normal people. When taken by any person who is suffering from anxiety or depression, he will feel worse. So if you want to consume sweet and fat items, then it is better to consume fish, nuts, and avocado, these items can lift your mood.

10. Soy Sauce

Foods avoid in anxiety or depression, Soy Sauce contains gluten.  It is added in bread, noodles, pre-packed food items, and pastries.  If you are sensitive to gluten, these items can cause anxiety and depression. You will feel sluggish and fatigued. So those who are sensitive to gluten must avoid the intake of soy sauce.

11. Processed foods

Foods avoid in anxiety or depression, If you consume more processed foods such as meat, fried foods, refined cereals, pastries, candy, you are at the risk to get anxiety and depression. So avoid these items at once.  And start to consume a diet of whole fiber-rich grain, fruits and vegetables, and fish that can help you to feel better.

12. Doughtnut

These are made of the wrong kind of fats, snow-white flour, little fiber, and lots of added sugar which are not good for health.  We must not consume it daily.  It will link to anxiety and depression.
