How to make your own Zero Waste Herbal Tea Blends: Herbal tea is called tisanes- are beverages made from the infusion or decoction of herbs, spices, and other plant material in hot water.

This drink is made from the seed pods of a wild variety of flowers.  This plant is rich in vitamin C and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidants properties.  In a study, it is found that it is also effective in arthritis.  But more research is needed. It is generally safe but some cases show allergic reaction or upset stomach. It is beneficial for fighting the age of the skin and reduces stomach fat.

It is a great herbal remedy to relieve cramping, nausea, or indigestion.  Its oil is also useful in nausea, spasm, and stomach pain.

5.Ginger Tea

The drink made from the root of ginger is beneficial in ailments of stomach, nausea, boost appetite, relieve arthritis pain,  fight cold.  Ginger tea helps fight inflammation, boost the immune system, and is the best remedy for nausea in early pregnancy. Prevent nausea in cancer treatment.  It is beneficial in indigestion and constipation.  It is also beneficial in period pain.

6.Hibiscus Tea

This tea is made from the flower of the Hibiscus tree. Its color is pink-red and the tart flavor makes it refreshing. You may intake it hot or iced. It is rich in healthy properties, such as anti-viral. It is also effective in hypertension and fights oxidative stress.  It should not be taken with diuretic medicines or with aspirin tablets. 

7.Echinacea Tea

This herbal tea is famous to prevent, lessen and shorten the common cold. It boosts the immune system and helps our body to fight off viruses or infections. However, more study is needed.

8.Saga Tea

Saga Tea contains properties that are beneficial to boost brain health.  It has been proved in a test tube that it is beneficial in cognitive function and effective against the effect of the plaques involved in Alzheimer’s disease.

In a number of cases, improvement was found in mood, mental function, and memory in adults after they took several different types of saga extract.  Studies in rats show that it is effective against colon cancer. However, more studies are needed.

Black tea intake interferes with carb absorption by suppressing certain enzymes and monitoring the blood sugar level.  It also encourages insulin secretion. Intake of 3 to 4 cups of tea is beneficial for good health.

Certain teas may interact with diabetes medication. So it is important to consult your physician before the intake of tea to diet.  Choose un -sweated teas whenever drink the same. Research suggests that green tea, hibiscus tea, etc may offer anti-diabetic effects.  However, we must intake un-sweetened tea.
